This is a challenge I came up with for an online crop: Make a page about a favorite everyday object that you love.
We often forget to keep the memories of the objects in our lives. Objects that we use and love or objects that hold a special meaning to us. My own sample page is about my Starbucks thermos mug that I got as a Christmas gift from my husband and that I use everyday.
As the challenge unfolded and more and more participants submitted their pages, I realized how much some objects mean to us, and that almost all of them are connected to loved ones in some way. So, by scrapping our favorite things, we are also keeping the memories of the people who we connect with these objects, and the moments that are linked to the object and those special people.
The challenge to scrap a favorite object turned out to be so much more profound and deeply meaningful than I ever could imagine when I came up with this, so seemingly mundane, challenge.
Try it! I can't wait to see what you will come up with! :)
This page was made from the January 2014 Scrap Stash Kit: Star Bright.
Some of the supplies I used (and this is a fine example of how I mix and match from so many brands and collections):
Papers from Basic Grey (Lemonade collection), Dear Lizzy (the gold polka dot vellum) and Amy Tangerine (the pink paper and the paper piece where I journaled). White cardstock from Bazzill.
Foam letters from Pink Paislee Expressions. Letter and word stickers from Kaisercraft, Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye and Studio Calico (there are similar from Dear Lizzy).
Rhinestone stickers from Cosmo Cricket and LYB. Flair from Pink Paislee (Sweetness collection).Glitter stars from Freckled Fawn. Glitter trim from Webster's Pages. Washi tape from Freckled Fawn. Gold pearl stickers - no specific brand. Gold glittered dots from SEI. Wood veneer from Studio Calico and Prima.
For the letterpressed details, I used plates from Studio Calico.
